诺拉跟妈妈一起开车出了门，行驶在宽阔的公路上，妈妈开着车，诺拉昏昏欲睡，在漫长的行驶之后，她们终于停下来，不远处的球场上，有几个男人在烧烤，孩子们围绕着他们跑来跑去，很快她们便接到通知，2点15探监的人到入口集合。女人们一个个的提着篮子走进了探监等候室，她们在等候的过程中彼此交谈着，谈论着彼此的状况，甚至是裙子的样式。在探监室之外，有个女人不甘心大闹着，预约名单上没有她的名字，她却大吵大闹偏要进去，受到了警卫的阻拦。她们在狭窄的休息室内等候，天气炎热不堪，诺拉跟妈妈在监狱里见到了形形色色的女访客，她们每个人身上都具有独特的故事，诺拉在跟这些人的交谈中彼此加深理解，同时让彼此的内心都得到释放。
